India ‘s Per Capita Syndrome

The world currently uses per capita figure as a measure to benchmark countries. The country of 2 people and 1 earning a 1 million and the other earning 100000 makes the per capita as 550000.

India has 1.3 billion people and imagine the skew the per capita can throw up. A developing country like India should have at least 10 per capita figure starting from the bottom 10% of population to the top 10% population.

Policies should be driven for each of the 10% population group with a target to move them to the next 10% per capita figure.

Policies should also be made to ensure that the top 10% and the bottom 10% come closer to each other over a period of time. This ensures distribution of wealth

This is critical for India to move towards a developed country and not a pseudo developed country based on an average per capita it currently uses.
